This web site has been set up to assist consumers in finding and selecting Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) which meet their Financial, Health-Care and Estate Planning needs. We are publishing a series of directories titled Continuing Care Retirement Communities [STATE]: A Directory on a statewide or regional basis.


Using this website, you can "rate" CCRCs of interest in each state, based on your priorities. Go to How to Select Your Best CCRC. There you can set your FINANCIAL PRIORITIES search for CCRCs in states where you wish to live, and sort facilities by Entrance Fee, Refund Plans, Long-Term Health Care Coverage or Fee-For-Service. You can also set your ORGANIZATIONAL PRIORITIES (Church/Faith Based, Not-For-Profit, For-Profit or Coop) These listings have State, Facility Names, City, and Average Entrance Fees, Refunds and Discounts. In order to select your “best” CCRC, you should understand the Organizational, Marketing and Financial bases for these kinds of retirement communities. You should also decide what your personal priorities are for Purchase Price, Long-Term Health Care and Estate Preservation. Since each of these issues will affect your decision, you may have to make compromises.

In order to select your “best” CCRC, you should understand the Organizational, Marketing and Financial bases for these kinds of retirement communities. You should also decide what your personal priorities are for Purchase Price, Long-Term Health Care and Asset Preservation. Since each of these issues will affect your decision, you may have to make compromises.

 

Using the directory, you will be able to compare costs and “Rate” specific facilities, based on your personal priorities. For example, if you are more interested in Low Initial Cost, you can rate each facility on its Entrance Fee. If you are more interested in the Long-Term costs, there is a worksheet and a spreadsheet available to develop the Lifetime Costs for each facility.

For detailed information you may want to order a Directory for the state or region you are interested in.  The Directory has data for each facility, such as Entrance Fees (Average, Minimum and Maximum), for Low, Medium and High price residences (generally corresponding to 1 BR, 2 BR and 2 BR+), Monthly Fees (Average Single and Double Occupancy), Refund Plans and Discounts, and offered amenities. Contact information, including Web-Page and Email Addresses are provided.
